IRFP Presents Review of Jessica Rylan/2673 Split

Cameron Gordon, Soulshine Reviews

Jessica Rylan / 2673 (split)

Jessica Rylan's "Breath Control" was a major messer; skittering messy stuff that blurred into purrs half way through. She gave us six more tracks of varying quality, all skippy snunt with names like "Mechanical Dancer" and "Fishbowl'd". I actually thought their might be an opportunity to dance in the former, as the skippity skip almost melded a beat but alas, the whole thing melted into utter nothingness. Insect noises and hissy fits followed. And to close things out, two super long tracks of dirt level growl. The sound of a stuttering freeway overpass, clamour in furs, glassblowing redux and/or knuckled-under face wash. Rinse and repeat. No.
